Clinical studies and data

The OSNA method has been evaluated in several multi-centric studies in different countries. In all these studies OSNA was compared to a very extensive histopathological examination.

The fresh lymph nodes were cut into 4 slices of 1 mm or 2 mm widths using a special cutting device. Two slices were used for the OSNA assay with CK19 mRNA, and the remaining two blocks were used for multi-level histopathological examination with H&E staining and immunohistochemistry (see figure)

In summary, at the time of writing more than 1500 lymph nodes have been analysed in several clinical studies with a specificity of 96.5-100% and a concordance rate of 96.1-99.1%.
